2. Inter-Dharma School Hymn Singing Competition- 4 & 5 September 2010,7 to 10 p.m.
The competition for the Primary School category is on 4 Sept and 5 September is for the Secondary School. Both events will be at Shah Alam Buddhist Society (SABS). Please refer to our previous mail for the program and map to SABS.

4. 4th Induction Course – Sunday,19 September 2010

5. Mooncake/Mid Autumn Festival Celebration- Saturday, 18 September 2010
Join us for a night of fun and fellowship
Time : 7.00 pm
Venue: UBV
Dinner: Pot luck (each to bring a dish)
Programme include performance by the DS, lantern parade etc.
Children are requested to bring their own lanterns and candles for the lantern parade
There will be best lantern competition and lantern riddle games.

6. Dhamma School – Re-Registration of students for 2011 All existing students from ages 4 to 16 years old who wish to continue with Dhamma School in 2011 are required to re-register. Re-registration counter will be open every Sundays from 19 Sep to 10 Oct 2010. Attached the DS reregistration form.
As the Dhamma School is only for members’ children, members are advised to update your membership arrears (if any). 7. Buddhism Course (Module 2)- starting on 3 October 2010
The Buddhism Course (Module 2) will be held for 3 Sunday starting on 3 October from 3 to 6 p.m.Members and friends especially those who have completed Module 1 are strongly encouraged to register for Module 2. 8. Dhamma talk by Ven Thubten Chodron on Friday, 24 September 2010 Title: How to Live in the Present Moment? Time: 8 p.m

About the Speaker
Born in 1950, Thubten Chodron grew up near Los Angeles. She graduated with a B.A. in History from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1971. After travelling through Europe, North Africa and Asia for one and a half years, she received a teaching credential and went to the University of Southern California to do post-graduate work in Education while working as a teacher in the Los Angeles City School System.In 1975, she attended a meditation course given by Ven. Lama Yeshe and Ven. Zopa Rinpoche, and subsequently went to their monastery in Nepal to continue to study and practice Buddha’s teachings. In 1977, she received the sramanerika (novice) ordination, and in 1986, received bhikshuni (full) ordination in Taiwan. She studied and practiced Buddhism of the Tibetan tradition for many years in India and Nepal under the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Tsenzhap Serkong Rinpoche, Zopa Rinpoche and other Tibetan masters for many years. Ven. Chodron travels worldwide to teach the Dharma: North America, Latin America, Israel, Singapore, Malaysia, and former communist countries.She is founder and Abbess of Sravasti Abbey, a Buddhist monastery near Newport, Washington.
